“Infections” ~ such a broad term. But a very scary one when it comes to speaking about our bodies, in particular our wombs / vaginas. Yeast infections, bacterial vaginosis, etc. Not usually terms we appreciate hearing and can sometimes be challenging to deal with.
What are infections in our vaginas really? Broadly speaking, it is an imbalance in our system. I did say ‘broadly’. Each of our bodies is so unique and reacts so differently it can be from any number of things including ~
stress
sleep
lack of exercise
poor diet (lacking in nutrients from fresh fruits and vegetables primarily)
lack of ‘good’ bacteria
However, what’s WONDERFUL to know is that our bodies usually give us SIGNALS that its out of balance and needs help! From texture and odor of our cervical mucus, to itching, and sometimes pain, our bodies are SCREAMING for help! However, sometimes an infection can go undetected, so a great practice is to have your regular pap smear performed.
